OUR ANSWERS TO THE 10 QUESTIONS

#1: We never over-book events or hire sub-contractors!

When you hire Dr. Drax he will be the disc jockey at your reception Accept No substitutes.
We absolutely guarantee this by putting it in our contract.

If we can’t perform at your reception, for some unforeseen reason, we will offer you a full refund.

This commitment was made and has been kept from the moment Starcom Entertainment was founded. We believe wedding receptions should be done personally, by someone you know and trust. We actually turn people away when they want our services for a date that is already taken. This facet of our service will never change. Many times people have asked us, "What if you get sick?" We are always proud to point out that we have never been too sick to perform and therefore, haven’t missed one event in seven years. We also love to show them our contract where it states that they are entitled to all their money back, including the non-refundable deposit, in the unlikely event that we are unable to perform. The bottom line is this, when you hire Dr. Drax for your reception, you will get Dr. Drax at your reception – guaranteed!

#2: This is our full time career!

During the week, we work on your reception's details.
We always meet with you at your convenience, even during the day.
We always return your phone calls promptly, usually within the hour.
We will return your calls right away and always make you feel like you are our highest priority. We will show up to get ready for your reception at least an hour and a half early. And, if we are helping with your wedding ceremony, we will come to your rehearsal as well. If you hire us, we will be your employees. Finally, you can count on us to do a fantastic job because this is our career and our passion.

#3: We always meet with you in person to help you plan your reception!

We prefer to meet with you at your home to save you time.
We usually meet with you 2 to 3 times or more, if needed.
We will help you plan your reception so that every detail will be exactly the way you want.
We usually meet with our clients at least two or three times, before your wedding day, to help you plan out all the details. This also gives us a chance to get to know each other better. Having all the details planned and decided on in advance is the best way for us to fulfill your expectations for your wedding reception. It also relieves the tension that is caused by worrying about how all the details are going to work out. When all of the planning has been finished, you can breathe a sigh of relief because then all you will have to do is show up at your reception and have fun.

#4: There are several things we do at your reception that makes our services unique!

We have an entire list of creative ideas for customizing and personalizing your reception.
It is our goal and purpose to keep your guests’ attention on you, where it belongs.
We will incorporate your ideas with the personality and style you desire.
Our purpose at your reception is to run the event, entertain your guests, and help in any other way we can. We are definitely not the "star of the show" at your reception. We will be helping your guests remember that this is your moment in the sun. We do offer several unique features that no other Disc Jockey services are currently offering, and we would be happy to share these ideas with you at our first appointment. When your reception is over, all you’ll have left is your presents, your pictures, your video and the memories. Our desire is to fill your minds with pleasant memories that will last you both a lifetime.

#5: We always coordinate your entire reception for you!

We have developed a checklist, which helps us to ensure that your reception will flow smoothly.
We are always willing to work with the other vendors and we do our best to keep them informed.
We will always get your permission before making any changes to your reception plan.
Whether you have a professional wedding coordinator at your reception or not, we will use our detailed checklist to make sure that the catering staff, photographer, videographer and the wedding party are informed and ready every step of the way. This will enable us to work together as a team whose only goal will be to provide you with the best reception possible. This will also help to prevent any minor mishaps that could cause the reception to come to a halt. We have years of experience in coordinating wedding receptions.

#6: Our attire will always be appropriate for your reception!

We always wear a full tuxedo outfit, including a tuxedo jacket.
If you have a special theme, we will be more than happy to dress appropriately.
We can verify our appearance with photos and video footage from several previous receptions.
We update our formalwear regularly so that we will always be looking our very best. We usually wear a full tuxedo with a jacket so we look like we belong at your reception. On occasion, we have even dressed in costume or to match a theme for the reception. We never wear earrings and we always maintain a clean cut look, so you’ll never have to worry about our appearance being inappropriate.

#7: We have company standards that absolutely govern our behavior!

We will gladly provide you with a printed list of our company standards.
We believe that our standards will exceed your expectations.
We can and do provide references that confirm our adherence to these standards.
When you hire Dr. Drax, you will be getting a professional entertainer who recognizes that his actions and words can have a direct impact on the success or failure of your reception. Our list of standards will tell you exactly what you can expect from us. This will give you peace of mind because you won’t be embarrassed by any inappropriate behavior. We really take our standards seriously. We just wish our competition would as well.

#8: There are never any hidden charges!

We never charge extra for basic equipment such as a cordless microphone or additional speakers.
There are never any additional charges for planning meetings, set up, tear down or travel time.
We always buy any additional music we may need for your reception at no extra cost to you.
Our pricing is a flat rate for the entire day. We have a "do whatever it takes attitude about your event".
We don't beleive in upselling or add-ons making you choose a more expensive option just to get the event you desire. There will never be any extra charges for overtime or starting late as often happens at weddings.
The only additional costs you will ever have to consider are: Paying for crowds over 1000 guests as we then need to bring significantly more sound & lighting equipment. Or for adding giveaways to your event.

#9: We have a very wide base of entertainment experience to draw from!

Our entertainment background includes acting, singing, stand-up comedy and working in radio.
We are working with a mentor and each other to constantly improve our entertainment skills.
We are very experienced at "reading the crowd" to maintain their attention or keep them dancing.
We are very proud of our entertainment experience as you can see for yourself in our DJ Bio’s section. We are continuously seeking to improve our skills as entertainers so that we can confidently provide you with the highest quality reception entertainment available. We believe that in order to stay fresh and current we need to be willing to learn new things and change or throw out old things that just don’t work any more. The last thing we want to deliver is a tired out performance that has been used with the same lines and the same songs for years. Every wedding for us is always fresh, always new and always entertaining.

#10: We have the skills to deliver announcements that are always clear and direct!

We have years of public speaking experience outside of disc jockey work.
We have taken and will continue to take speech and vocal training.
Our announcements are always direct and to the point, so all your guests will be informed.
We will use our vocal skills to capture your guest’s attention, while introducing your "Grand Entrance", or announcing your "First Dance" and the "Cake Cutting". No one will miss a thing because we will speak clearly and directly every single time we get on the microphone. "Planning the Perfect Wedding Reception".
